Business visa in the UK: What you should know?

The UK visa type used for business  trip is called a Standard Visitor Visa, which has replaced the Business Visitor Visa. You can get a Standard Visitor Visa, which lasts for 6 months, or a long term Standard Visitor visa which allows you to enter the UK for over 6 months at a time, for over 10 times, depending on the circumstances.

You may need a Standard Visitor Visa if you want to visit the UK for business purposes, such as attending meetings, conferences, or training events, negotiating or signing contracts, or exploring business opportunities. However, you may not need a visa if you are from a country that is eligible for visa-free entry to the UK, such as the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.

To apply for a Standard Visitor Visa, you need to fill in an online application form and provide some documents and information, such as your passport, travel details, proof of income and savings, and evidence of your business activities and contacts in the UK.

You may also need to provide your biometric information (fingerprints and photo) at a visa application centre in your country and attend an interview if required. You should apply for your visa at least 3 months before your planned travel date.

You can check the status of your application online or by contacting the visa application centre. You will usually get a decision within 3 weeks, but it may take longer depending on your circumstances and the volume of applications.
